Our second joint venture with GCP, we acquired the property following a highly competitive open market tender on a subject to planning basis from Freeholders The Co-Operative Group.
Early consultation with key local and political stakeholders established the specific aspirations for a mixed tenure residential community which we have successfully delivered in the form of both Co-Living and PBSA against the policy allocation for employment use and private residential dwellings on this site.
The residential community we have created is supported by large areas of recreational space and residents amenities on site. Combined with the phase 1 property, Scape Surrey is home to 659 young people either studying or working in Guildford and its environs. HG Living’s vision for these sites and inward investment has demonstrably acted as a catalyst for regeneration in this area of the town centre.
The joint venture completed the sale of the corporate entity to the European Pension Fund in December 2020. The property continues to be operated by our partners at Scape.
